Do you have the right to bear arms (weapons)?
Can I own a hand grenade?
Can I own a heavy machine gun?
Can I own a tank?
Can I own a chopper with a gun turret on top?
Can I own strategic bombs on my airplane?
Can I raise my own small army?
Can I own nuclear missiles?
And yet how come so many people want to own AK-47's and other automatic assault rifles by using the justification of the second amendment? Under that philosophy, what's to say someone can't own a nuclear missile?
I don't think the second amendment has an *astrix with a foot note that you can also bear offensive weapons as well as defensive weapons. Although sometimes the best defense is a good offense. Personally, I don't think anyone other than non-criminals who are mentally sound and properly trained needs a gun. And at that, a few rifles, shot guns, and pistols should be plenty to allow an American to defend their families, themselves, their homes, and their property.
